We are planning to livestream the 2020 Psychedelic Psychotherapy Forum: Vision and Visionaries, Oct 14 – 16, 2020, from traditional, unceded, ancestral territories of the Snuneymuxw, in Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada. Most of our registrants will be participating virtually. After the 3-day forum, we will be organizing two post-forum virtual workshops scheduled on Oct 17/Sat and Oct 18/Sun, respectively.

This travel/venue page is relevant for those who will receive confirmations from the Forum organizer that they can be accommodated at the venue, closer to the event dates. Registration confirmations for in-person tickets are subject to policy updates per the BC provincial health officer surrounding COVID-19.

We currently have meeting rooms on hold at the Vancouver Island Conference Centre in Nanaimo for the three full Forum days (Wed Oct 14  – Fri Oct 16). This full-service conference centre — with world class facilities — is just steps away from the scenic Nanaimo Harbour in the heart of a walkable downtown.

Located in central Vancouver Island, Nanaimo is approximately 1.5 hours (via driving) from the capital city of Victoria at the southern tip of Vancouver Island.

BC FERRIES — Nanaimo has two ferry terminals:

  • Departure Bay ferry terminal which connects to/from Horseshoe Bay terminal in Vancouver (1 hour 40 minute ferry commute, and 5 – 8 minutes drive to the conference venue
  • Duke Point ferry terminal which connects to/from Tsawwassen ferry terminal (2 hour ferry commute, and 20 minute drive to the conference venue).

SEA PLANES – Nanaimo has two sea plane operators:

  • Just a 5 minute walk from the conference venue is the Harbour Air seaplane terminal, for a convenient 20-minute flight connection to the Vancouver downtown waterfront, or to the Vancouver International Airport in Richmond.
  • Located close to the Departure Bay ferry terminal, approximately 5 – 8 minutes drive from the conference centre is the Seair sea plane terminal — to connect to Vancouver, and Vancouver International Airport.


  • To connect directly via regular airlines to Vancouver International Airport, and other cities in Canada.
